PRE-SCHOOL ADMISSION

St Catherine’s Pre School works as part of our Foundation unit and provides high-quality pre-school provision for children 2 years and older.

The Pre-School is staffed by qualified and trained early years practitioners all of whom work closely with the main school staff to ensure provision is of the highest quality and meets the individual needs of all our children with the pre-school setting.

Joining the Pre-School

Children born between 1st January and 31st March will usually start in the Nursery the term after their third birthday (after Easter).

· Children with birthdays from 1st April to 31st August will start in in the Autumn Term (September),

· Children born between 1st September and 31st December will start in the Spring Term (January).

You and your child will have the opportunity to meet the pre-school staff and visit the setting before starting.

Pre-school children can claim up to fifteen hours of free provision. This could be made up as follows: –

Morning session 9.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon

Afternoon sessions 12.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m. (the children can eat their lunch at Pre-School with the others)

Whole day 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m.

It is also possible to purchase additional time (if places are available.)

We also offer at an extra charge and is not included in funding hours-

12:00-1:00 (an extra hour where the children will have lunch at pre-school)
3:00-3:30 (an extra 30 minutes to end our Pre-School day at the same time as the rest of the school)
